Press Release

She is serious. She never denies her stammer and poor hearing. Smelling is her only functioning sense. Her big buttocks and Yin Yang hands are bothering this little “boy”.
She desires the restrained life of the ancient Greeks. She likes the unpolished honesty and the intimate contact with the world. She devotes all her passion to destiny by teasing the truth and making fun with the cruel reality. She views herself from a third person point of view as if she had never been herself, at all.
Without a doubt, there is an exceptional art talent born with Liu Yiqing. As a young photographer born after the 1980s, Liu presents the audience a rich and meaningful life, plus a breeze of youth, with her camera shots. In her works, you can find indiliberate scenes of dreams, reality, excitement, lost, or self-questioning. Every one of them deflects an utmost sensitivity and endurance which is inconsistent with her age.
From Aug 29 to Oct 11, 2009, Don Gallery proudly presents the first solo exhibition of Liu Yiqing
